TARIFA

EUROPEAN WIND CAPITAL

Tarifa is a place everyone returns to. And wants to live here, preferably starting tomorrow. It’s a windy town – the mecca for ocean enthusiasts, located in Andalusia, at the southernmost point of continental Europe. Separated by fourteen kilometers of the sea from Morocco, it’s a red dot on the map for every wind and wave seeker. Its unique climate owes much to location the ocean and the surrounding mountain peaks.  Its unique wind conditions are attributed to its precise location in the Strait of Gibraltar, between two continents. It’s a point from which birds migrate to Africa, waiting for suitable winds on the wide white beaches. Kitesurfers come to Tarifa to enjoy good winds all year round, and surfers from autumn to spring can expect beautiful waves. Tarifa gains popularity year by year, thanks to its vibrant nightlife and famous locals who find here perfect conditions to polish their skills in water sports. Undoubtedly, it’s one of the best kitesurfing spots not only in Europe but worldwide.

In Tarifa, you can expect two different winds with equally beautiful names – Levante and Poniente.
